William Bell

William was born in 1860 in Castleside, Co Durham.¹   William's father was John Bell and his mother was Hannah Hetherington.  His paternal grandfather was William Bell; his maternal grandfather was John Hetherington. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Henderson, James, Margaret and Elizabeth.  He was the second youngest of the five children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Wallace, John, James, Stephen, Joseph, Mary and Jane.
