John Bell 
John was born in 1835 in Allendale, Northumberland.1 John's father was John Bell and his mother was Margaret. His paternal grandfather was William Bell. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Wallace, James, Stephen, Joseph, Mary and Jane. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Henderson, James, William, Margaret and Elizabeth.-
