Friedrich was born on April 7th, 1897.  Friedrich's father was Wilhelm Friedrich Christoph Laue and his mother was Hanna Friederike Louise Scherf. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Herman, Otto, Heinrich, Friedrich, Marie, Helene, Sophie, Cathrine, Elise and Anna.  He was the tenth oldest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Johannes and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 67 on October 15th, 1964.
