Nellie was born in 1897 in Warwick, Warwickshire.  Nellie's father was James HUNT and her mother was Sarah BONEHAM.  Her paternal grandparents were John HUNT and Alice HUTT. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Fred, Sidney, Esther, Lizzie and Fanny.  She was the youngest of the six children.
