Esther was born in 1886 in Epwell, Oxfordshire.  Esther's father was James HUNT and her mother was Sarah BONEHAM.  Her paternal grandparents were John HUNT and Alice HUTT. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Fred, Sidney, Lizzie, Fanny and Nellie.  She was the oldest of the six children.
