Jane's father was Benjamin Whitney and her mother was Jane.  Her paternal grandparents were John Whitney and Elinor. She had six brothers named Nathaniel, Timothy, John, Jonathan, Benjamin and Joshua. She had two half-brothers named Mark and Isaac.
