Ivo was born on April 20th, 1839.  Ivo's father was Augustinus Pieters and his mother was Ursula Rosalie Verhamme.  His paternal grandparents were François Pieters and Ivonne Carolina Vanlandere; his maternal grandparents were Joannes Verhamme and Sophia Depoortere. He had three brothers and a sister, named Joannes Baptiste, Carolus Ludovicus, Fredericus and Francisca.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 53 on January 2nd, 1893.
