Moritz was born on November 16th, 1854 in Bleicherode, Germany..  Moritz's father was Philipp Schlesinger and his mother was Rosette  Schlesinger, born Rothschild.  His paternal grandparents were Elias Schlesinger and Enkele or Luene. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Elias (Emil), Joseph (Julius), Siegmund, Adolph, Max, Johanne, Friederike and Rosalie.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 6 on August 20th, 1861 in Bleicherode, Germany..
