I dedicate this tree to my mother, Margarethe Amalia Luise Strauss Piel (1914- 2007).
In spite of her last name she was a true SCHLESINGER and she would have loved to see this tree and of course get to know all these people.
Her mother was Margarethe Rosette Schlesinger (1890-1944) who married Ernst Piel (1885-1982), to the regret of both families, who disapproved of interfaith marriage and the Schlesinger family broke off with her. Only cousin Walter came to the wedding.
My mother regretted it that she did not know her maternal family.

My sources are based on search engines of the net and the help of Dr Dirk Schmidt, the curator of the museum (former Neue Synagogue) in Bleicherode, Germany. The help of other Schlesinger family members was also very valuable.

There are mistakes that I overlooked. So let me know and I will correct them. Any additional information and pictures are welcome. If you send them to me I will try to add them.
