George was born on March 17th, 1850. George's father was John W Cochran and his mother was Orena A Day. His maternal grandparents were Elisha Day Sr. and Hannah (Jane) Jane Atkinson. He had six brothers and six sisters, named William, Charles, John, Hiram, James, Freeman, Mary, Eliza, Melvina, Evelyn, Orena and Etta. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 66 on December 14th, 1916.
