James Stewart

James was born on February 28th, 1857 in Newtyle, Angus, Scotland. James' father was Robert Stewart and his mother was Jean Hardie. His maternal grandparents were Patrick Hardie and Betty Greig. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William, John, George, Robert, Elizabeth, Ann, Elspeth, Jessie and Charlotte. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
