Mary Meffan Hardie

Mary was born on November 19th, 1837 in Kinnell, Angus, Scotland and her baptism took place there on December 10th, 1837.¹   Mary's father was Patrick Hardie and her mother was Betty Greig.  Her paternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson. She had a brother and three sisters, named George, Ann, Jean and Isobel.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 78 on February 27th, 1916 in Cowdenbeath, Fife, Scotland.
