Margaret was born on March 12th, 1840 in Rescobie, Angus, Scotland. Margaret's father was Andrew Hardie and her mother was Ann Eaton. Her paternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson; her maternal grandfather was John Eaton and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had four brothers and a sister, named James, Peter, John, Charles and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 71 in 1911 in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland.1 General Notes
