John Hardie

John was born in 1854 in Aberlemno, Angus, Scotland.¹ John's father was Andrew Hardie and his mother was Ann Eaton. His paternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson; his maternal grandfather was John Eaton and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James, Peter, Charles, Margaret and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the six children.
