Wilhelm was born in 1180.1 Wilhelm's father was Duc Godefroi de Louvain III and his mother was Imaine von Loos. His paternal grandparents were Duc Godefroi de Louvain II and Luitgarde von Sulzbach; his maternal grandparents were Count Ludwig von Loos I and Agnès von Metz. He had a brother named Godfrey. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother named Henri. He died at the age of 44 on August 1st, 1224.1 General Notes
