Hawise was born in 1174 in Kendal Castle, Westmoreland, Cumbria, England.1 Hawise's father was 6th Baron of Kendal William de Lancaster II and her mother was Helwise de Stuteville. Her paternal grandparents were 5th Baron of Kendal William de Lancaster I and Gundred de Warenne; her maternal grandparents were Robert Stuteville IV and Sibella de Valognes. She had a brother named Henry. She had six half-brothers named Simon, Richard, Thomas, Elye, Gilbert and Alexander. She died at the age of 52 in September 1226.2 -
