John de Courtenay 
John was born about 1251 in Oakhampton, Devonshire, England.1 John's father was Sir John de Courtenay and his mother was Isabelle De Vere. His paternal grandparents were Baron of Okehampton Robert de Courtenay and Mary de Redviers. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Baron of Okehampton Hugh, Robert, Alice, Margaret, Aveline and Egelina. He was the second oldest of the seven children.-
