Baron of Okehampton Hugh was born on March 25th, 1249 in Oakhampton, Devonshire, England.1 Baron of Okehampton Hugh's father was Sir John de Courtenay and his mother was Isabelle De Vere. His paternal grandparents were Baron of Okehampton Robert de Courtenay and Mary de Redviers. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Robert, Alice, Margaret, Aveline and Egelina. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 42 on February 28th, 1292 in Collicomb, Devonshire, England. He was buried in Cowick, Devonshire, England.2 2 -
