Mary Sue was born on October 5th, 1870 in Rockingham Co, NC. Mary Sue's father was Richard E. Sims and her mother was Nancy Susan Roberts. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Roberts and Arrena Wortha Hopper. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James L., Thomas, Robert Everett, Jesse James, Sally Ann, Arrena, Rachael E. and Martha P.. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.General Notes
