Martha P. was born on April 29th, 1881 in Danville, Danville (Independent City), VA. Martha P.'s father was Richard E. Sims and her mother was Nancy Susan Roberts. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson Roberts and Arrena Wortha Hopper. She had four brothers and four sisters, named James L., Thomas, Robert Everett, Jesse James, Mary Sue, Sally Ann, Arrena and Rachael E.. She was the second youngest of the nine children.General Notes
