Helen E. was born in 1917 in Rockingham Co, NC. Helen E.'s father was Herbert Hugh Roberts and her mother was Emma Bertha Claybrook. Her paternal grandparents were William Allen Roberts and Caledonia D. Trent. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Herbert Rosen, William Wyatt, Elsie L., Eleanor B. and Nancy Mozelle.
