Annie Mae was born in 1917 in Rockingham Co, NC. Annie Mae's father was Adolphus Douglas Roberts and her mother was Annie Eliza Lewis. Her paternal grandparents were James Dutch Roberts and Nancy Jane Sneed. She had a brother and a sister, named Adolphus Douglas and Hazel. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Willie Boyd, Shields Smith, Fletcher Henderson, Harvey, Pleasant Harvey, Edna Clarence, Sallie B., Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Gray and Edna F..General Notes
