David Jones Foster 
David was born on February 21st, 1827 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.1 David's father was James H. Foster and his mother was Nancy Monteith Jones. His paternal grandparents were Bartlett Foster and Elizabeth Harris. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named William, James, Robert, John, Benjamin, Rufus, Joshua, Naomi, Jane, Nancy, Emily and Linzy. He was the third oldest of the thirteen children.-
