Sary Ann Despain 
Sary was born on January 25th, 1826 in Jackson County, Alabama.1 Sary's father was John B. Despain and her mother was Malinda A. Bazor. Her paternal grandparents were James Scott DeSpain and Susan (Sally) Peterson; her maternal grandparents were John Bazor and Mary. She had eight brothers and seven sisters, named James, Joseph, John, Henry, Hutty, Fielding, Lewis, Edward, Mary, Nancy, Polly, Sally, Rebecca, Araminta and Patsy. She was the oldest of the sixteen children.-
