Robert Beaton 
Robert was born about 1516 in Creich Castle, Fifeshire, Scotland. Robert's father was John Beaton and his mother was Janet De La Haye. His paternal grandparents were Sir David Bethune and Janet Duddingston. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Archibald, Gavin, David, Elizabeth, Christian, Janet and Grizel. He was the oldest of the nine children.-
