Alexander Austin Ashwell 
Alexander Austin was born on February 9th, 1877 in Bedford Co, Va. Alexander Austin's father was Carey Austin Ashwell and his mother was Frances West Howell. His paternal grandparents were James "Meredith" ("Meredith") Ashwell and Sarah "Sally" Jane Ellis. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Daniel L., Silas Pleasant, John William, Robert Austin, Aubrey, "Infant son", Victoria Catherine, Mary Matilda and Sophia Jane. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 50 on May 23rd, 1927 in Lynchburg, Campbell Co, Va. He was buried in Lynchburg, Campbell Co, Va.General Notes
