Willie Bee's father was Samuel Anderson Alfred Demadison Akin and his mother was Mary Alice Walker. His paternal grandparents were George Jefferson Akin and Clorinda Bybee. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Charlie Jefferson, Archie Henry, Elliot Washington, Leonard Alonzo, Alvin Anderson, Arvin Norman, Sarah Elizabeth, Lula Jackson, Laura Leslie and Flora Ethel.-
