Joseph G. Mathias

Joseph G. was born in 1839 in Stewart Co., Georgia.¹   Joseph G.'s father was Richard (nmi) Mathias and his mother was Susan Cooper.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Mathias and Catherine Fuller. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jackson, Augustus L., William Eugene, Lanslow, Scott Plesant, Alabama and Texas Luciretta. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Richard, Jr. and Eliza.  He died at the age of 25 in 1864 in Atlanta, (Fulton Co.), Georgia.  He was buried in Stewart Co., Georgia.^1 1
