Mary Jane Welty

Mary Jane was born on June 22nd, 1872 in Blanket, Brown County, TX.¹   Mary Jane's father was Joseph S Welty and her mother was Martha Elizabeth Smith.  Her paternal grandparents were John C Welty and Elizabeth Hauff. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Billie, Willie, Charles Franklin, John Wesley, Margaret S, Anna E, Gipsey Unora, Fannie M and Sallie Texana.  She was the third oldest of the ten children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Samuel A, Sarah E and Martha J.  She died at the age of 73 on August 17th, 1945 in Blanket, Brown County, TX.¹
