Jane was born in 1487 in Smallbridge, Essex, England.1   Jane's father was William Walgrave and her mother was Margery Wentworth. She had four brothers and five sisters, named George, Walgrave, William, Edmond, Mary, Margaret, Briget, Anne and Dorothy.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.1
