William Thomas 
William was born in 1822 in Kentucky.1 William's father was Joseph Thomas and his mother was Anna Jemina Couch. His paternal grandparents were Marchant Thomas and Jemima Hamilton. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Elisha, Levi, Eli, James B, Jane, Polly Mary, Jemina, Elizabeth, Catherin, Rebecca, Margaret and Rhoda. He was the oldest of the thirteen children.1 -
