Mary Elizabeth Spears 
Mary Elizabeth was born in 1837 in Simpson, Kentucky.1 Mary Elizabeth's father was Jacob Spears and her mother was Nancy Finn. Her paternal grandparents were William Spears and Susan Boren; her maternal grandparents were Meshach Finn and Elizabeth Welty. She had six brothers and a sister, named William Wesley, Meshach King, Ambrose Jefferson, Alfred Marion, Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Mary Jane. She was the third oldest of the eight children.1 -
