Mathias Secrest 
Mathias was born on October 19th, 1826 in Ohio.1 Mathias' father was Henry Secrest and his mother was Elizabeth Spaid. His paternal grandparents were Fredrick Secrest and Catherine Secrest; his maternal grandparents were George Nicholas Spaid(Spaht) and Elizabeth Cale. He had seven brothers and a sister, named John, Abraham, George W., Michael, Fredrick, William, Valentine and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 29 on August 6th, 1856.1 -
