Starling Reed 
Starling was born in 1856 in Scott, Tennessee.1 Starling's father was Sampson Reed and her mother was Sarah McDonald. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Reed and Phariba [Rachel] Hatfield. She had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Isaac, Miles, Campbell, Rebecca and Emily. She was the third youngest of the seven children. She had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James, Firman, Andrew, Oma, Balaam, Redman, Rachel, Katherine and Clementine.1 -
