Alice Owen 
Alice was born on March 12th, 1816 in Bethel, Windsor County, VT.1 Alice's father was Andrew Owen and her mother was Sarah Walden Newman. Her paternal grandparents were Sylvanus (Silvanus) Owen and Eunice Roberts. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Silas Whitman, David, Hiram, Susan, Eunice, Lucy, Amanda, Mary and Betsy. With her sister and brother-in-law, the Colemans, she went out to Michigan.
1st marriage - Married a "Knickerbocker" - Philip Vradenburg on September 30, 1839.
2nd marriage - Married Philip R. Van Frank in 1861.
At the time of her first marriage, her parents sent her a Family Bible with a complete Family Record in it from San Diego, CA to Madison, WI to enable the authur to check his own records.
