William Newlin

William was born on March 4th, 1799 in Chatham, NC.¹ William's father was John Newlin and his mother was Sarah Holladay. His paternal grandparents were John Newlin and Mary Pyle; his maternal grandfather was Henry Holladay. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Thomas, James, John, Eli, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Mary and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 38 on April 22nd, 1837.¹
