Carrie Elizabeth was born on July 24th, 1878 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota.1 Carrie Elizabeth's father was Nels Peter Nelson and her mother was Karoline Mortensen. Her maternal grandparents were Morten Olsen and Anna Marie Madsdatter. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Charles Andrew, Martin Lester, Julius, Mary, Anna Mary, Alice Mary, Johanna (Hannah) Helen, Olena (Lena) Sophia, Lyda Esther and Clara. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.1 -
