Virginia May was born on March 25th, 1894 in Cohen Bluff, SC.1 Virginia May's father was William Aiken Mew and her mother was Swannie G. Poe. Her paternal grandparents were John Elias Mew and Sarah Ann Winifred Bowers. She had two brothers named Samuel Mosher and George Howell. She was the second oldest of the three children.1 -
