George Howell Mew 
George Howell was born on October 29th, 1895 in Cohen Bluff, SC.1 George Howell's father was William Aiken Mew and his mother was Swannie G. Poe. His paternal grandparents were John Elias Mew and Sarah Ann Winifred Bowers. He had a brother and a sister, named Samuel Mosher and Virginia May. He was the youngest of the three children.1 -
