Eli Mcgee was born on April 15th, 1824 in Effingham Co., GA.1 Eli Mcgee's father was Abraham Mallette and his mother was Catherine Kennedy. His paternal grandparents were Gideon Mallette and Hannah Elizabeth DeRoche; his maternal grandparents were William Kennedy and Elizabeth Treutlen. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Alpheus J., Gideon Asbury, William K., Frances F., Louis Myers, Sarah Ann, Elizabeth Aworda and Margaret Matilda. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 45 on March 16th, 1870 in GA. He was buried on March 18th, 1870 in Savannah, GA.1 1 General Notes

Mallette, filed 2 May 1870, filed in Chatham Co., GA. Lists three brick
tenements, two story on basement at Jones St. One block of wooden buildings
situated in Hoversville, near Laurel Grove Cemetery.
!Marriage:In Glynn Co. a licence was issued to a Eli Mallette and Ellen Andrews
and marriage recorded as 16 Aug 1853. This licence mentions a Rev. G.A.
Mallette of Camden Co., GA to preform the marriage.
!Burial:Buried in lot #1539 Laurel Grove Cem.
