Michael was born on October 30th, 1847.1   Michael's father was Jimmerson "Jimpse" Kennedy and his mother was Nicey Collins.  His paternal grandparents were Stephen Kennedy and Mary Holland. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Josiah, Eli, William, Stephen, John, Ann Jane and America.  He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Seaborn B., Perry, Lee, Wright, Edward Hartridge, Tillman and Sarah.  He died at the age of 71 on June 15th, 1919.1
