Benjamin was born in 1648 in Windsor, CT.1   Benjamin's father was Simon Hoyt and his mother was Susannah Smith.  His paternal grandparents were John Hoyt and Ruth Unknown. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Moses, Joshua, Samuel, Mary, Miriam and Sarah. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Walter, Thomas, Nicholas, John, Deborah and Ruth.  He died in Stamford, Fairfield, CT.2
