Anna was born on July 11th, 1883 in Posen Township, Presque Isle County, Michigan.  Anna's father was John Glentz and her mother was Augustina Prahl.  Her maternal grandparents were John Prahl and Maria Schuck. She had five brothers and eight sisters, named August John, John Henry, Maximilian, Francis, Adalbert Philip, Mary, Rose, Martha Emma, Augustina, Elizabeth, Emily, Agnes and Theresa.  She was the fifth youngest of the fourteen children.
