Sallie Elizabeth was born on October 26th, 1854.1   Sallie Elizabeth's father was John Jacob Rhodes Gilchrist and her mother was Effie Fairly.  Her paternal grandparents were Angus Gilchrist and Elizabeth McNeill; her maternal grandfather was John Fairly. She had five brothers and a sister, named James A., John Fairly, Angus, William, Robert and Flora McNeil.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 80 on February 16th, 1935.1
