Gilbert Gilchrist

Gilbert was born in 1780.¹   Gilbert's father was John Gilchrist and his mother was Effie McMillan.  His maternal grandparents were Gilbert McMillan and Christian. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Angus, Archibald, Maclolm, John, Mary, Margaret, Flora and Linlie.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He had a half-sister named Effie.¹
