John Jeremiah Exley 
John Jeremiah was born on November 16th, 1826.1 John Jeremiah's father was John William Exley and his mother was Eliza Margaret Mallette. His maternal grandparents were Gideon Mallette and Hannah Elizabeth DeRoche. He had six brothers and four sisters, named James Barnett, William Lewis, Gideon Henry, Francis Abiah, Fletcher Asbury, Marquis Lafayette, Elizabeth Ann, Margaret Josephine, Caroline Eliza and Adelaide Victoria. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 82 on October 12th, 1909. He was buried in Effingham Co., GA.1 1 General Notes
