Alton Byron's father was David Ellison Evans and his mother was Annie Madge Pitts. His paternal grandparents were William Ellison Evans and Sophronia Cail. He had six brothers and four sisters, named David Pershing, Charles Rabon, Walter, John Flannery, William Ellison, Douglas Haig, Martha Virginia, Annie Marie, Avis Lanell and Florrie Madge.-
