Richard A. was born about 1852 in SC.1 Richard A.'s father was John Gideon Dean and his mother was Celestria A. J.. His paternal grandparents were Allen Jones Dean and Sarah Thial. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert Wilson, John H., Samuel, Sarah T., Mary A., Judith and Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.1 -
