John Gideon Dean 
John Gideon was born on November 8th, 1818 in Beaufort Co., SC.1 John Gideon's father was Allen Jones Dean and his mother was Sarah Thial. His paternal grandparents were Jesse Dean and Mary Ann Unknown. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Jesse Robert, Allen Nelson, William Hamilton, Richard Sylvester, Andrew Robert, Mary Elizabeth, Eliza Lavonia, Sarah Saphnonia and Martha Pernease. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 77 on November 18th, 1895 in Bronson, Levy, FL.1 General Notes
