Mahala Burks 
Mahala was born on December 3rd, 1802.1 Mahala's father was Isham Burks and her mother was Elizabeth Rowland. Her paternal grandparents were John Peartree Burks and Sarah Isham ?. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Robert Rowland, Isham, John, William, Wesley, James Pane, Sally, Betsy and Nancy. She was the third youngest of the eleven children.1 -
